Over the course of two days, October 25th and 26th, 2025, the Poland Seminar by Ushiro Sensei was held in Mielec, Poland. This marked the second time the seminar was held in Poland, following the 2024 event. This year, it took place in Mielec, the hometown of Andrzej Wolski. In addition to participants from two Polish dojos, a total of 50 attendees from Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, the United States, and Japan participated, along with over 50 children from Andrzej's dojo.

The European seminars have a history spanning over ten years, but a defining feature of this particular seminar was the high level of attention it garnered. On both days, the gymnasium that hosted the event was filled with a large number of children and parents watching from the second floor. Furthermore, the event was visited by the head of the school, the Mielec County Governor, and the Mayor of Mielec on respective days, and covered by the local radio station. Mielec is a two-hour drive from Poland's former capital, Krakow. Given that Sensei was visiting from Japan, the local preparation and welcome were clearly exceptional.

The theme of Ushiro Sensei's seminar was "Unleashing Human Potential." To verify this potential, he demonstrated feats that are possible for children but impossible for adults. From this starting point, he showed how the system of Ushiro Karate can be used to transition from muscle to cells, and from force to energy. While pointing out "Why we advance while heading toward self-destruction," he demonstrated phenomena that do not exist within conventional wisdom or common science, indicating that the answer for the future lies within the present moment.

The verification with the children began with the Scrum exercise. A striking observation was the sparkle in the children's eyes. After the first child succeeded, when Sensei asked, "Who wants to try?", the surrounding children's hands instantly shot up. They waited their turn, never taking their eyes off Sensei's every move, and remained close to him. Even during practice breaks, they bought books and asked for Sensei's autograph; their eagerness to learn was vastly superior to that of the adults. Furthermore, during the verification on the second day, the Mayor of Mielec, who was observing, expressed his desire to experience it himself. He actually attempted to push the Scrum, personally experiencing how an adult's force is ineffective in moving it, highlighting the significant attention from the local community.

Following this, the participants split into groups: adults from various countries and children from Poland. The children focused on kihon, while the adults practiced Sanchin, Sanbon Ido, and Passai with its Bunkai on the second day. Ushiro Sensei moved between the groups, offering guidance as appropriate. The recurring message for the children was that they possess potential, and for the adults who instruct them, that they bear a great responsibility. Sensei emphasized that if instructors do not realize this and change now, they will inadvertently crush the children's possibilities. He also reiterated the message that adults are fixed in their ways, tend to ask questions and try to learn based on existing extensions, but Ushiro Karate does not exist as an extension of what is already known.

For international seminar participants, the dinner party with Sensei is also a valuable opportunity for learning. Interpreters were provided for Poland, Hungary, and Germany at this seminar, ensuring that Sensei's message was conveyed as smoothly as possible to participants from each country. Each participant paid close attention, not wanting to miss the valuable guidance from Ushiro Sensei during both the seminar and the dinner, which only takes place twice a year.

Seeking depth over strength. Ushiro Sensei's message resonated with every participant, making the Poland Seminar an event where both children and adults experienced this depth and gained an awareness of true strength.

The seminar was incredibly interesting. With the participation of the children, it was completely different from previous seminars. What Sensei demonstrated about the function of the cells, and what the children showed us, was truly wonderful.

I was able to take home a lot of necessary energy for the future. My dojo is still a small group, and my own level is still low, but I feel I understood more about the teaching methods of Ushiro Karate than ever before because of this seminar. I want to thank Andrzej and his team for hosting this event. Most of all, I am grateful to Ushiro Sensei and the Japanese team for traveling all this way, and for Sensei continuing to guide us without fail. I truly learned so much. I will take what I have learned back home and continue to work on it. Thank you very much.

It was great that the seminar could proceed completely according to plan. What made me happiest was that Sensei showed understanding for us and gave us permission to grade and nurture the children ourselves. What Sensei demonstrates is truly wonderful, but I still haven't been able to grasp it properly. I will continue to work as hard as possible. I don't know when I will gain that (understanding) feeling, but I will continue my training. Thank you very much.

The two days spent hosting Ushiro Sensei were very stimulating for us. We also gained new experiences. I sincerely thank Sensei.

There were several important events during the seminar. On the first day, the youngest group of children from our karate dojo participated. It was a quite large group, with over 50 children. Among these youngest children, some had just started karate a few weeks ago, others a few months ago. The majority had started this past September.

For these children, and indeed for all the youngest kids, the experience of meeting Sensei directly and being taught karate by him in person was especially significant and interesting. I believe meeting Sensei provided a huge motivation for the children. Initially, some of them were nervous about coming to a new place and a new environment, but once the various demonstrations began, the children eagerly volunteered to participate. I think this instruction influenced the children's attitude toward karate and their future growth, and also instilled a desire in them to learn the martial arts more deeply. Learning directly from Sensei like this is much more valuable than experiences gained from reading books or watching videos. Seeing the children like that makes me hope they will continue to grow with our club for many years to come.

A second group of children (from the club) who are particularly enthusiastic about their karate training participated over the two days. They are the advanced students in the club and are not in the regular children's classes. It was clear that these children also showed strong interest and were learning with immense enthusiasm. They were always wearing huge smiles. I believe what Sensei showed and what they experienced firsthand had a very great impact on them.

To sum up the two-day seminar, I think it was a success and extremely valuable. I hope this will have a positive influence on the development of our club. I'm also glad that many good values were conveyed here. We plan to take advantage of this opportunity given to us by Sensei and apply it to our training.

Finally, on behalf of the club and the children, I sincerely thank Sensei for his participation and for conveying such positive values.

First, I would like to thank Ela and Andrzej for hosting this event in their city this year.

In this seminar, Ushiro Sensei focused on the importance of utilizing our inner power to effect change. These past few days, especially through the training on the final day, were highly significant for me as I feel I gained a better understanding of how I can change and transfer my own inner power by practicing kata.

To transfer (power) essentially means to develop and advance one's own power. Sensei mentioned that these two days of the seminar were extremely important for understanding the significance of kata. The practice of kata is meant to draw out energy, inner energy, and to learn how to draw out that energy.

The deeper Ushiro Sensei's teachings become, the more I realize how truly long the path ahead is.

I still feel like a novice, a beginner who has just started training. I feel that way every time. But at the same time, I feel something changing inside me. Ushiro Sensei, I thank you for your teachings of immeasurable value. As far as I have researched, there is no master comparable to Sensei. I am deeply grateful not only for Ushiro Sensei's own wonderful ability but also for his wonderful instruction. Thank you very much.

Today was a very stimulating and interesting day for me. As Ushiro Sensei himself said, the fact that he was able to show us things he hadn't shown much before is because we have grown enough to be able to discuss such things. I was very happy about that.

The Sanbon Kumite was particularly impressive. After Sanbon Kumite, I believe it progresses into free sparring (Jiyu Kumite), but learning kata, learning basics, doing bunkai, and taking those steps to connect all the way from Sanbon Kumite to Jiyu Kumite is, I believe, a very important step for us. Thank you very much!

It was a lot of fun. At the beginning, a lot of children came, and Sensei taught us many things that children can do but adults cannot, which was very educational. I was also allowed to participate in the demonstrations, and what I realized and was very surprised by was seeing firsthand that something difficult for me could be done so easily by a child. I was also delighted and thought it was cute to see the children themselves surprised by what they could do. The Sanchin practice was also very good, and Sensei corrected me many times. At the end, when we practiced breathing, I was deeply moved and physically realized my own potential. I was very impressed that I couldn't push with muscle, but I could push with my breath at that moment.

I would like to thank Ushiro Sensei for hosting this seminar. First, I found it extremely interesting how the children, especially the small ones practicing with the wooden swords, were so serious and focused, and that this focus came naturally to them. I believe I lack this naturalness. That is, I don't have the ability to behave as naturally as a small child. All the children were very enthusiastic during practice and were constantly smiling, whereas we adults tend to focus on understanding things mentally. I also want to thank Ushiro Sensei for giving us so many small hints at the training level to help us advance. Thank you.

For me, it is truly wonderful to look at all the children. What they are capable of, and what we are striving for but may never reach. It is wonderful to witness that because I believe that is the path we must walk. I also love the training we are working on. And the gymnasium is full of positive energy, and that helps. Thank you. I believe this seminar is everything. It is very special. Not only is it special, but it is full of energy, and you can feel that energy. When Sensei does something, you can feel that energy, and for me... I cannot express it in words.

It is difficult for us adults to let go and let the energy flow because we think too much with our heads. I hope that I was able to remove some of that. Thank you very much.

I learned a lot at the seminar. This is my fourth time, and I want to participate again in the future. I buy a book every time, and I believe the one I bought this time, Karate and Ki, is important, so I want to read it carefully. What is important about the seminar is that we can be taught directly by Sensei, which is why I want to continue participating.

What I think Sensei wanted to show us is that we children have potential, and that energy is drawn out by practicing Ushiro Karate.
