Where Ushiro Karate is going
You practice karate, compete, and get caught in winning or losing. This karate is not useful in life at all. Its negative impact will affect our children and grandchildren. In order to prevent this from happening, we need to take action now. When making a move, the most important thing is to have a vision. For example, let’s say there is a big river, a torrent. Right now, many people are drowning because of the Covid disaster. First, you throw in three or four large stones into the river to stop the flow. Then, small stones are thrown into the river to stop the flow even more. If you throw only small stones into the river at the beginning, they will be swept away each time you put them in, and it will be the same process all over again. When having a vision, you need to know the difference between short, medium and long term vision. For example, in technology development, there is a difference between developing for the next five years and repeating ad hoc development every six months. It is important to always develop with a large stone in mind, in other words, with a long-term perspective. Karate is the same. A short-term "win or lose" is like throwing in a small stone. It does not apply to life at all. Ushiro karate teaches karate that can be used in life. "Ki" is at its base.
